Thanks, boys. Sorry to be so cliched, but "you had to be there." I was 13 in 1964 and I can't describe what these short, beautiful songs meant to me. There was such thoughtfulness, optimism and LIFE.
Why not include his thoughts on the experience. The lads originally wrote "I Wanna Be Your Man" for the Rolling Stones who recorded and released it first. He was there in the beginning. Speaking of Pete, a thought dawned on me for the first time ever yesterday: Why didn't Paul, George, and Ringo include Pete Best in the Video Anthology.
Great album. He didn't have to participate in the entire anthology, just up to the point when he departed. He's still alive. I usually listen to it straight through.
What I mean is, he should have been interviewed too. I'm saddened by this, but I still love them and the anthology on DVD. But when I do program the songs in a different order, I listen to these last: "Hold Me Tight," "Little Child," "Devil In Her Heart," "Till There Was You," "I Wanna Be Your Man." All the other tunes are better, but the whole package is good. Long Live Paul McCartney, Richard Starkey, and Pete Best.
It has some of the Beatles early sound that made them the greatest rock group ever. I really enjoy this album.
Postman,Roll over Beethoven.i'm just about naming every song i know, probably the weakest song is Little Child which would have been a hit for any other band,Hold Me Tight is another brilliant one,you just go through these albums and there is so many sensational songs like You've Really Got a Hold on Me or I Wanna Be Your Man or Devil in Her Heart or Not a Second Time, and it ends with Money which is what i want alot of also. Don't ya just luv those Beatles. Now this is a classic second album that took the world by storm.Starts off with It Wont be long, which is a great tune, that and some of my favorites on the album are,All I've Got to Do ,All My Loving,Don't Bother Me,Till There Was You,Please Mr.
I has this album in the sixties, This CD one had a different mix :(
